Energy Bills Support Scheme

You can get a £400 discount to help with your energy bills over winter 2022 to 2023. You do not have to pay this money back. This is called the Energy Bills Support Scheme (EBSS)

The Energy Bills Support Scheme provides up to £400 of support during the winter of 2022/23 to households with a domestic electricity connection. The discount is automatically applied, details may be found on the website, available here. The payments are split into six installments between October and March. There will be two £66 payments and four £67 payments.

EBSS Vouchers - Prepayment Meters

For those with prepayment meters, advises you will receive your payments as either an automatic credit (for those with smart meters) or as a voucher for those with a traditional prepayment meter. The vouchers will be sent by SMS, email or in the post. It is important to ensure your supplier has your up to date contact information. The vouchers are time limited and expire after 90 days.


What to do if you have not received your voucher

If you have not received your voucher, or it has expired before it was redemeed, you will need to contact your energy supplier to request a replacement voucher.

If you need a replacement voucher, please contact your supplier directly. In most cases, the supplier will need to ask you questions or update your details to ensure you receive the replacement voucher as soon as possible.
